Welcome to the tyranny of way too much summer produce. According to a National Gardening Association poll sales of canning jars jumped 28 percent this year. More people are trying out gardening now since WWII, a jump of 7 million this year alone, and now even more are canning!
Oh, jar of glass,
how I love you so.
You give me pickles,
you give me peaches;
Hopefully the one that puckers,
isn't the one that slithers and tickles.
Anybody else putting up produce? Have any creative ideas for filling shelves?

In my imagination, I am that kind of woman. You know, the kind that gardens and bakes and cans. But in reality...not so much!
Good on you, it looks wonderful :)
The funny thing about that picture is that I zoomed in so close to the jars so you couldn't see the piles of clutter that have accumulated over the last few weeks. I've cleaned nothing, except what was absolutely required - dishes, clean underwear, etc. If my kids get grilled cheese and chicken noodle soup for dinner one more time they're going to scream!
Be glad you have too much. Our hail storm killed everyone's gardens this year, so we haven't got much to can (not that I'd have time anyway). Looks beautiful and you'll be glad come winter!
What a bummer about your gardens! That's the thing with gardening - you win some, you lose some. Darn it.
And like I said. Nothing else has gotten done. Zilch, na-da. My kids are whining.
