Write about your most embarrassing/funny parenting moment....if you dare. Either post your own or paste it into the comments, and I'll post it, probably against your will or without your knowledge like I just did to poor Stephanie here. It was just so stinking good, I couldn't help myself.
A lady I barely know just saw me practically naked.
So, as you know, I was pretty stinky today, and badly in need of a shower. My kids were quietly watching TV, and I thought, "Now's my chance!" and off I scurried to the shower. Because nothing could possibly go wrong.
I was almost done, and I heard J screaming. This is normal around here. I yelled, "What's wrong?!?" repeatedly, but he finally stopped and I figured he and K were just beating the tar out of each other again. As usual.
I was drying myself when I heard an unfamiliar voice saying, "Stephanie?" I hastily wrapped my towel around myself and burst out of the bathroom. There was one of K's Kindergarten classmates and her mother. They had come by to deliver a birthday party invitation. When they knocked at the door, my children couldn't figure out where I was, naturally assumed I had utterly abandoned them, and began the screaming panic. This lady logically concluded that I was lying in a pool of my own blood (can't say I blame her) and talked K into opening the door.
Some days, I really hate this gig.

Any punctuation errors?
There’s a certain time of evening in summer as the sun dips under the horizon that the birds, disappear. Your ears are drawn to their flowery songs, the sound of the light breeze bending and concaving under their fluttering wings, and as you rest your chin on the ledge of your windowsill and lazily follow their puffed up, feathery heads bobbing up and down, scratching and sharpening their beaks on the knobby branches of nearby elm’s, they are there; then in a blink, gone; like a mirage, and you wonder if they were ever there at all.
Find any?

Writing Challenge - Love in six words?

I discovered this book the other day and thought it an interesting concept. Love in six precious words. Summing up a life long passion or trauma so succinctly may seem like an abomination, but it actually dates back to the 1920's, when Ernest Hemingway bet his colleagues that he could write a complete short story in just six words. The result,
"For Sale: Baby Shoes. Never Worn."
He reportedly called that his best work.
A few excerpts from Love and Heartbreak:
Our prison visitations were surprisingly romantic. - Larry Smith
People can't want what they want. - Dr. Drew Pinsky
Didn't realize I'd still be lonely. -Pamela Cash
My marital advice? Marry an orphan. - Kristina Wright
The challenge in honor of red February - Write your own six word memoir on love.
(Feel free to publish it here. Please, please with a cherry on top.)

A Writing Challenge -

A couple times a month we'll post a writing challenge. No one is required to participate, but it might be a fun way to explore your creativity and use your imagination!
---
Make a list about something.
Choose something ordinary and make a list of things about it or related to it. Do it off the top of your head, taking just 10 minutes or so.
Then read it. You will feel a rhythm to it after a few lines, and it will sound poetic. If you make a list about a kiss or love or flowers, you may have a sweet poem when you're done.
If you feel confident enough, share what you wrote in the comments. Do it more than once if you want to.
